Bigger picture first
In the excitement about nationalisation, prices, speculation, more or less growth of demand and politics we tend easily to forget the bigger, more long term picture.
Starting from the place we are; on a planet that at this moment is not only moving you with a speed of 1500 kilometer per hour in turning around its axis but also is moving us all with a speed of about 100,000 km per hour within our solar system, which in turn is moving within our Milky Way, which…etc.
This does matter, because not only makes it clear that greater forces are at play, but also that we humans are a very, very small part of something we have no influence upon, such as changes in geomagnetic forces and things like the climate, which are happening at this moment.
At the same time we are in a situation that this planet has provided us with resources upon which we have built our culture but that several of the critical ones are starting to run out whilst ever more people want ever more of them, whilst at the same time the side-effects of our culture on the planet is becoming seriously dangerous, for us.
We, the human race, have serious challenges coming towards us, in which the solutions need to be looked at in an integrated way, long term focussed and with in mind that things will really be not anymore “as it was” and that calculations based upon extrapolations of the past will miss the point.
