From 2011 to now, Ministry of Land and Resources of China invited bids for shale gas exploration rights twice and allowed private enterprises to participate in. In the second round of bidding, two private companies won the bids. The third round of bidding will be held in early 2014, and still open to small and medium private enterprises, providing equal opportunities for private capital.

 

Based on the rapid development of China’s unconventional gas Industry, UGAS announces that the series event of 4th Annual Unconventional Gas Asia Summit China 2013 is gathering returns to Beijing on 17&19 October, 2013. This event provides a platform for representatives from the industry to meet and discuss strategies to drive forward the shale gas & CBM/CMM development in China and APAC.

 

As noted by Mr.Hu Weiping, Deputy Director of the Oil and Gas Department of the National Energy Administration," Now expanded to cover both shale gas and CBM/CMM, the UGAS China conference are a great chance for all of the key players and stakeholders to come together, not only to keep up to date on shale& CBM/CMM developments in China and Asia, but also to form new partnerships and share experiences."

 

At present, China shale gas industry is still in its infancy, with the output of about 540,000 cubic meters / day. Main mining enterprises include PetroChina, Sinopec and Yanchang Petroleum. In 2015, the shale gas industry will enter a rapid development stage in the wake of the completion of China’s potential shale gas resource survey. By 2020, China’s shale gas output will reach 100 billion cubic meters and become an important part of China's natural gas energy.

 

4th UGAS China 2013 offers delegates a holistic view of the many commercial opportunities and challenges faced across the shale gas & CBM/CMM value chain in China and APAC, and also the key technology innovation. This organizer disclosed that featured speakers are from China National Energy Administration, Ministry of Land and Resources of PRC, CNPC, Sinopec, CNOOC, CUCBM, as well as IOCs, and other shale gas & CBM/CMM Operators, also the industry and technical experts from leading consulting and oil field service companies.

 

Meanwhile, the organization committee arranges communication opportunity and site-tour to nation shale gas pilot area of Changning –Weiyuan block for the participants after the conference. Changning - Weiyuan block is national shale gas pilot area, approved by NDRC and National Energy Administration, constructed by PetroChina Southwest Oil and Gasfield Company.
