The Consilience Energy Advisory Group Ltd three-day oil training event will take place at Thomson Reuters in Canary Wharf, London, 15-17 May 2013.

The course is aimed at new crude oil and refined product traders and shipping operations personnel, but also provides an essential guide for financial, audit, legal and other related disciplines to the activities of the trading team.

The course is split into two distinct parts: shipping operations on day one; and, trading on days two and three.  Whilst delegates will derive maximum benefit from attending all three days, it is possible to attend either day one or days two and three according to the needs of the delegate.

Day One: concentrates on shipping operations and covers nomination procedures, cargo documentation, demurrage, the structure of contracts and the content of industry standard general terms and conditions of trade, including the use of letters of credit to guarantee payment.

Days Two and Three: concentrate on trading issues and cover refining processes and techniques, the supply of, and demand for, refined products and the impact of product quality on price.  It examines the oil price formation process in detail looking at price benchmarks, the impact of time on price and the price differential between different grades of crude, including the impact of freight. It explains price risk management and the hedging tools including the forwards and futures markets, swaps (including CFD’s) and options.

The course uses interactive workgroup case studies to drive home the principles introduced and the lessons learned over the three days.

Don't delay. Bookings and payments received by 1st April 2013 will enjoy an early booking discount of 10%. Multiple delegate bookings are subject to an additional 5% discount.
