Automation, surveillance, and security are three key elements in the operation of an oil field. Over the past decade the industry has seen exponential growth in the technology that underpins the realisation of these elements in oil field operations. With the end of ‘Easy Oil’, the industry is set to face a challenge in E&P business while meeting the growing demand for Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR).
Intelligent, integrated, smart, digital oilfield technologies have evolved to augment the techniques used traditionally by oil companies in ensuring smooth uninterrupted production. Though it is yet to mature as a de facto standard, due to various inherent constraints like cyber-security, disparate data formats and lack of robust communication infrastructure, intelligent oilfield technology is gathering momentum in the region.
Traditionally, oil companies are provided with standalone equipment and tools to handle various functionalities of automation, surveillance, and security by solution providers. Such solutions have been working in data silos and their effectiveness in achieving the common objectives of the company remains questionable. With the advent of intelligent field technologies, oil companies can now move towards making informed decisions in a timely manner through secured data sharing, automated workflows, and surveillance.
SPE has initiated this technical workshop to provide an opportunity and a common platform for potential end users, consultants, and service providers to share their knowledge, offering their achievements in the area of Intelligent Oil field through effective automation, surveillance and security systems. The co-chairs and the steering committee request all oilfield communities to make use of this opportunity and participate in full strength.
Who Should Attend:
Chief Information Security Officers, Field Development Managers, Instrumentation Engineers, Cyber Security Engineers, Cyber Security Analysts, IT managers
