As the easy oil is coming to an end and the GCC is drilling more and more unconventional wells, the know-how for fully abandoning wells is becoming increasingly important. Not only for safety purposes, but also to meet the increasingly stringent regulations in the GCC, with penalties including fines or even loss of operating licenses.

The Well Abandonment Summit 2015 has been developed to help NOCs & IOCs in the region find the most cost-effective ways to abandon these wells whilst adhering to regulations. The summit will be addressing key areas including: the latest regulatory updates, and how to suspend reservoir communication, avoid water contamination and decommission wells offshore cost effectively.
