CNPC starts up second oilfield in Sudan
20-11-04 Chinese industry sources stated that the Chinese oil group, CNPC, has started up its second oilfield in Sudan, to be followed by a much bigger one next year.
One official at China's largest state oil group said that CNPC began trial production a few months ago at Block 6 and is now pumping about 10,000 bpd of oil.
Sudan is the site of China's largest overseas oil production, as the world's second-largest oil consumer struggles to secure oil from all over the globe to cover a growing domestic shortfall.
