RWE Dea tests gas on Egypt's Disouq concession

29-04-08 RWE Dea tested 37 mm cfpd of natural gas and condensate from the North Sidi Ghazi-1x well on the Disouq concession in Egypt.
Gas flowed from a sandstone interval of 42 m within Upper Messinian reservoir sands that had an average 20 % porosity. The perforated interval was 2,752-70 m. Gas flowed on test through a 50/64-inch choke, the company said.

RWE Dea plans to drill a second exploration well, South Sidi Ghazi-1x, to test another potential Messinian structure.
RWE Dea holds a 100 % interest in the concession and has operated it since July 2004. The Disouq area covers 5,523 sq km onshore in the densely populated farmland of the Nile Delta region. The company has interpreted 3,500 sq km of data since 2006.
