Petroleos de Mocambique plans $ 100 mm expansion
15-07-08 Petroleos de Mocambique, the state-owned oil company, plans to spend $ 100 mm expanding its distribution network in the southern African nation.
"The expansion will mainly be in the rural areas where studies have shown there is insufficient distribution of diesel and gasoline,'' Chief Executive Officer Casimiro Francisco said in Maputo, the capital. The program will begin "within months.''
Petromoc, which competes with Royal Dutch Shell, BP, Galp Energia SGPS and Engen, a unit of Petroliam Nasional, has 35 % of the Mozambican market, Francisco said.
