Apache to sign three oil and gas deals in Egypt

20-08-09 Apache is to sign three oil and gas deals worth $ 30 mm for a total of 14 wells in three areas of Egypt's Western Desert, the Oil Ministry said.
Oil Minister Sameh Fahmy and a representative from Apache were attending the ceremony to sign the deals. Apache will work with the state's Egyptian General Petroleum Company (EGPC) and Egyptian energy firm Tharwa, it said.

The concessions are all in Egypt's Western Desert. One is an agreement to invest $ 15 mm to drill six wells at Siwa, a second is an investment of $ 7.5 mm in four wells in Gharb Ghazalat and the third is $ 7.5 mm to drill four wells in Saloum.
Apache is the largest acreage holder and the most active driller in Egypt, as well as the largest producer of liquid hydrocarbons and natural gas in the Western Desert and third largest in all of Egypt.
