Repsol YPF schedules investments of $ 11.8 bn for 1999-2002

04-01-00 Repsol-YPF has scheduled investments of $ 11.8 bn for the 1999-2002 period, of which $ 4.43 bn earmarked to Argentina, $ 4.99 bn to Spain, $ 2.06 bn to Latin America, and $ 312 mm in the rest of the world.
Repsol is to concentrate 40 % of the overall investments in exploration and production ($ 4.7 bn), while 24 % to oil refining ($ 2.8 bn).
Gas business is to receive $ 3 bn, with petrochemicals to receive $ 900 mm, and $ 400 mm to be invested in miscellaneous projects.
Repsol-YPF is keen to win a position in the natural gas market both in Spain and in Latin America.
