StatoilHydro to use West Epsilon for North Sea drilling

20-01-09 StatoilHydro has been granted consent to conduct exploration drilling in the southern North Sea with the mobile facility West Epsilon.
Well 16/2-5 is part of production licence 265 and is located 190 km west of Stavanger. The well has the following geographical coordinates: N 58 degrees 48' 50.91", E 02 degrees 22' 11.02". The water depth at the site is 110 metres.

Start-up is planned for January 2009 as soon as West Epsilon has finished the drilling of well 2/5-13. The activity is expected to last from 66 to 100 days, depending on discoveries.
The jackup drilling facility West Epsilon is operated by Seadrill Offshore, Stavanger.
