bpTT launches its fourth platform

21-01-09 As it continues its exploration drive to ensure that the production levels of gas are maintained, bpTT has launched, without fanfare, its fourth offshore platform. It is called the Savonette.
It was moved from its construction location at the LABIDCO fabrication yard at La Brea to the deep waters offshore earlier. The Savonette brought to four, the number of offshore platforms operated by bpTT. The other three, operating in the deep waters off the east coast of Trinidad are the Cannonball, Cashima, and Mango.

The Savonette is expected to produce about 600 mm cf of gas every day from four deep wells off the shores of Trinidad.
Robert Riley, chief executive officer of bpTT, said recently at the opening of the new offices of Schlumberger that "the $ 675 mm project is testimony to the advances bpTT and the local fabrication industry have made." He said completion of the platform was made possible with the use of maximum local content.

Savonette was the fourth bpTT platform built at LABIDCO's fabrication yard at La Brea.
Riley said he expected the platform to begin production of gas in the third quarter of 2009. He said the Savonette will normally be unmanned and will be tied to the existing Mahagony B platform.
