Bureyskaya power station to help improve living standards
09-07-03 President Vladimir Putin said that the Bureyskaya power station would improve the lives of Russians in the Far East.
In remarks he said: "As early as 2004 the annual effect from cutting coal export expenses may come up to R 1.3 bn and when the Bureyskaya hydro-electric power station reaches its design capacity it will exceed R 5 bn. This, in its turn, will allow a more adequate tariffs policy and, in the end, have a positive effect on the living standards of the Far East residents.“
„In some regions of the Federal District, their energy expenses may and should go down already now. We spoke about it with the industry's leaders, and the tariffs are to be cut by at least 10 %".
