Nord Stream may extend pipeline project with gas reservoir
26-08-08 The Nord Stream company might extend its unprecedented Baltic pipeline project with the construction of a major gas reservoir in one of the Baltic countries.
A representative of the Nord Stream company said that a branch line might be built from the 1,200 km underwater pipeline towards a reservoir based in one of the Baltic countries.
The Nord Stream pipeline will stretch from Vyborg in Russia to Greifswald, Germany. The pipeline will be on the agenda when German Chancellor Angela Merkel visits Lithuania and Estonia.
Nord Stream will be partly fuelled with gas from the Shtokman field in the Barents Sea.
