14-09-99 LatRosTrans plans to invest $ 260 million on renovation of an oil pipeline, the company told.
LatRosTrans has developed an investment program in order to improve the oil pumping system and increase the amount of oil products transported to the western Latvian port of Ventspils. The program would be implemented over a period of three years until 2003.
The current annual capacity of the pipeline to Ventspils is 14.6 million metric tons of oil and 3.5 million metric tons of oil products. Following the reconstruction, the pipeline's capacity would increase to 32 million metric tons.

LatRosTrans is a Latvian-Russian joint venture with an annual turnover topping 225 million lats ($ 381 million).
