Cairn to launch oil and gas exploration in India's Raj's Hadauti region
20-05-08 Buoyed by its successful discovery of oil and natural gas in the Barmer region, the UK multinational Cairn Energy would now conduct similar activities in the Hadauti region's Kota, Baran and Jhalawar districts from June 15 onwards.
The Cairn Energy has received green signal for it from the Union government. The multinational's representative visited a number of places in this area over the in April and identified a number of places where the search could be conducted.
At all these places minor explosions would be conducted as part of search operation, said Cairn's Operation In-charge George Keswal.
Before carrying out the explosions on the selected points a 20 feet deep pit would be dug. All these explosions would be conducted at a safe distance from roads, drains, bridges and residential houses, he added.
