BHEL wins contract to set up 500 MW unit at Bokaro TPS
24-06-08 Indian power engineering major Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd. (BHEL) has won an INR 18.4 bn ($ 428 mm) turnkey contract from the Damodar Valley Corporation for setting up a 500 MW generating unit at the Bokaro thermal power station in the state of Jharkhand, India.
Three units of 210 MW each, built by BHEL, are already in operation at Damodar Valley Corporation's (DVC) Bokaro thermal power station (TPS).
BHEL's scope of work includes design, engineering, manufacture, supply, erection and commissioning of steam turbines, generators, boilers, associated auxiliaries, balance of plant and electricals, besides controls and instrumentation, electrostatic precipitators and civil works.
