16-07-08 Liaoyang Petrochemical, a unit of PetroChina, raised its crude processing capacity to 9 mm tpy following the launch of operations at a 3.5-mm-ton-capacity crude oil unit on July 11, parent China National Petroleum Corp said.
The new unit is designed to process imported high-sulphur oil from Venezuela, the parent company said.

Liaoyang Petrochemical, based in north-eastern China's Liaoning province, plans to process 500,000 tons of Venezuelan oil this year, it said.
The refinery's existing 5.5-mm-ton crude oil unit is optimized for Russian heavy oil.
