PetroChina Xinjiang Oilfield to enlarge crude storage capacity
14-04-09 PetroChina Xinjiang Oilfield Company is estimated to achieve an enlarged crude oil storage capacity of 1.2 mm cm in amount, along with the overall start-up of its new crude oil storage tank engineering on August 10, 2010.
Located in the north-western Chinese city of Urumqi, Xinjiang Autonomous Region, the project is built in two phases, according to PetroChina Xinjiang Oilfield, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Beijing-based oil titan PetroChina.
Three and six 50,000-cm crude oil storage tanks are scheduled to start operation on October 30, 2009 and August 10, 2010, respectively, and then total storage capacity of the Wangjiagou crude oil storage tank engineering will add up to 690,000 cm.
The project, as an important oil storage and transfer base, will help PetroChina Xinjiang Oilfield further sharpen its competitive edge and strengthen safety of the Sino-Kazakhstan crude oil pipeline in the near future.
