Three pipelines of CNPC to ensure gas supply to Hunan
21-04-09 The Hunan Provincial Government signed the strategic cooperation agreement with China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC) on April 18.
Hunan provincial governor Zhou Qiang, secretary of the Party leadership group and manager general of CNPC were present at the signing ceremony and delivered speeches.
In order to meet the demand of gas supply of Hunan Market, CNPC plans to invest 20 bn in Hunan until 2015 for the construction of urban gas pipeline networks, product pipelines, supporting oil depots and gas stations.
"According to the plan of our corporation, we will do utmost to guarantee the natural gas supply to Hunan by means of three pipelines", vice manager general of CNPC revealed.
At present, the natural gas used in Hunan is transported via pipeline between Chongqing's Zhong County and Hubei's Wuhan City, with a gas supply of 1 bn cm.
Though the main pipelines of China-Asia natural gas pipeline network and "the western gas transported to the east" project have not been
through Hunan, CNPC opened the branch pipeline from Zhangshu City of Jiangxi Province to Hunan Province, which can increase the annual gas supply to 1.5 bn cm or 2 bn cm.
CNPC plans to establish three pipelines of "the western gas transported to the east" project through Hunan Province to southern China's Guangdong and Fujian provinces.
The three pipelines can bring along an annual gas supply of 4 bn or 5 bn cm to Hunan and the amount can be increased with the growth of gas demand.
