19-03-02 Norway's Statoil has awarded two contracts for work at the Karsto complex where gas from the Mikkel field in the Norwegian North Sea is to be processed, the oil and gas company said. Belgium's Fabricom has been contracted to build a receiving module, control unit and pipe rack for the gas, under a deal worth NOK 70 mm ($ 7.98 mm), to be delivered in November.
Norway's Veidekke group has meanwhile won a construction contract worth NOK 20 mm with work to be completed by October 2003. Mikkel gas is expected to come on stream in autumn 2003.
The well stream from the field being processed on the Asgard B gas floater. Statoil is to have a final interest in the field of 41.62 % after farm outs. ExxonMobil will hold 33.48 % and Norsk Hydro 10 %. Finland's Fortum has just bought 7 %. The expansion at Karsto is set to raise its throughput to 13.5 mm cmpd.
