29-03-02 Gazprom Executive Board Deputy Chairman Alexander Ananenkov and the president and executive director of the Schlumberger company signed a memorandum on founding a technological alliance. A representative of the Gazprom told this document provides for development of mutually beneficial cooperation in production and transportation of hydrocarbons.
The partners' short-term plans include the preparation of a detailed agreement on a technological alliance. Gazprom and Schlumberger view the implementation of projects intended to increase oil and gas production at low-output wells, as well as the analysis of the possibility of methane production from coal-beds in the Kuzbass region as priority objectives.
Schlumberger is an international service company, operating in the oil and gas industries. In Russia it has been cooperating with Sibneft and Yukos.
