06-05-02 Engineering and construction company Abigroup has won a A$ 50 mm ($ 26.48 mm), six year contract with Australian leading gas company, Multinet Gas. Abigroup said the contract was for gas distribution network maintenance, construction, repair and customer supply for one of Multinet Gas' two operational regions.
Multinet Gas is Victoria's largest natural gas distributor. Abigroup chairman John Cassidy said the company was fast becoming a leader in its field. "This major contract complements Abigroup's A$ 320 mm ($ 169.44 mm) Texas Utilities contract and the A$ 100 mm ($ 52.95 mm), five-year contract from Yarra Valley Water," Mr Cassidy said.
It also made the first step into the New Zealand market by recently securing the NZ$ 21 mm, three year Metrowater maintenance contract. Abigroup said it aimed to become the pre-eminent asset services provider in Australasia.
The Multinet gas contract commences in May 2002.
