02-05-02 Tractebel's Groupe Fabricom said it has won contracts worth EUR 29 mm from Statoil as part of the extension of the Karsto natural gas onshore terminal, on the southeast coast of Norway, north of Stavanger.
The first contract, for EUR 9 mm, is to make three prefabricated modules, which will be assembled at Fabricom's construction yard in Hoboken and dispatched to Karsto by seaway.
The second contract, for EUR 20 mm, covers the onsite assembly of the modules as well as all mechanical work, it said, adding the terminal must remain operational throughout. The project should be completed in July 2003, it said.
Fabricom noted the contracts are the latest in a series of larger contracts won in the Norwegian oil and gas industry over the past 15 years, including participation in the construction of the Karsto terminal.
