27-05-02 Ishikawajima-Harima Heavy Industries and Mitsui & Co. said they have obtained an order to build a plant designed to liquefy and store petroleum gas for US oil firm ChevronTexaco. The plant is expected to operate on the ocean and liquefy petroleum gas drilled from an offshore oil field in western Africa, the two firms said.
This will be the first-ever floating production facility for LPG, they added.
The plant will be built at Ishikawajima-Harima's Kure factory in Hiroshima Prefecture. It is expected to be completed by July 2004.
