Waertsilae wins power plant contract in Gulf of Mexico

21-05-02 The Finnish power generation systems supplier Waertsilae said that it had received a contract for a 15.3 MW power plant from the Thunder Horse offshore project in the Gulf of Mexico.
The power plant would be installed on a large semi-submersible production platform, currently under construction in Korea, Waertsilae said.

The Thunder Horse field is the Gulf of Mexico's largest oil and gas discovery. The field is to be developed by BP and ExxonMobil with BP as the operator.
