Dowell Schlumberger wins Pemex contract

05-06-02 The upstream unit of Mexico's state oil company Pemex awarded Dowell Schlumberger de Mexico a $ 38.5 mm contract for drilling exploration wells in the Campeche sound in the Gulf of Mexico, according to federal government information.
The contract is for angled drilling on wells to be drilled, repaired and upgraded. Work is scheduled to take 917 days and start later this month.

Earlier, Pemex awarded MI Drilling Fluids de Mexico a drilling contract for offshore wells in the Gulf of Mexico, and at end-May awarded two 3D seismic studies with combined investment of over $ 32 mm. PGS Onshore won the $ 9.3 mm contract for the Aguamar study offshore Tampico state.
BGP International Mexicana meanwhile won the bidding for the $ 22.9 mm contract for the Aliento Mata Espino 3D study in Veracruz state. Work is scheduled to start and take 626 days.
