Sept. 2, 1997 Shell Services Company and Peritus Software Services, Inc., have entered into a license agreement to allow Shell Services Company to use the Peritus Automate:2000 service technologies in conjunction with RENEW 2000, Shell Services Company's Year 2000 compliance methodology. Through this agreement, Shell Services Company adds the strength of the AutoEnhancer/2000 tools to the company's project management and technology migration expertise to assist clients in achieving century compliance on time.
"Shell Services Company is committed to assuring end-to-end Year 2000 project management through testing and implementation. We selected the Peritus AutoEnhancer/2000 software to accelerate the code correction portion of the RENEW 2000 methodology and take our service offering to the next level," said Ron Quiggins, Director of RENEW 2000. "As a part of our unique testing strategy, we intend to discover all of the date sensitive variables and minimise the false negatives. The AutoEnhancer/2000 softwarefeatures the Adaptive Seed Generator (ASG) which assists in finding the pervasive variables to reduce the amount of testing to further strengthen Shell Services Company's RENEW 2000 solution. Shell Services Company is incorporating the Peritus automation technology to provide the optimum solutions for our customers," he added.
The Automate:2000 service combines Peritus' proprietary technologies and methodology with Peritus' expertise in software maintenance. The Automate:2000 service components offer licensees the freedom to select windowing or data expansion techniques with a high quality automation assisted approach to identifying and correcting date-sensitive code.
