Pryme strikes gas at third Australian well
23-06-08 Australia's Pryme Oil & Gas has hit gas in a third well at the Turner Bayou exploration well which lies in south central Louisiana in the US.
The third well at the project reached a total depth of 5,000 feet after unveiling gas in the Frio primary objective.
“We re delighted to be running casing on this well which adds additional Frio reserves to the existing discovery, the Bordelon 25-1, in the north-east section of the Turner Bayou survey,” Pryme’s chief operating officer Ryan Messer said.
“Plans for a pipeline are in development and the well will be completed and flow tested once the pipeline has been laid.”
Brisbane-based Pryme has a 52 % stake in the Turner Bayou project which covers about 80 sq miles (207 sq km).
Primary targets include six prospective formations ranging from the shallowest Frio, at a depth of 3,000 feet, to the Tuscaloosa at 16,000 feet.
