19-08-09 Algerian state energy group Sonatrach announced a new gas discovery, bringing to eight the number of hydrocarbon finds this year in the North African OPEC member country.
Tests showed a flow rate of 12,637 cm per hour at the well, the company said.

The new find was made in the Alrar South area of the Illizi basin, it said. Sonatrach is the sole operator for the contract area.
The company made 16 finds in 2008, 7 of them in association with foreign partners.
