Electric power equipment manufacturer’s order portfolios are shrinking

21-10-02 The electric power equipment manufacturers are concerned about the 2003 and 2004 performance. The order portfolios are shrinking due to the coming presidential elections and the energy consumption.
The investments for the sector, estimated at $ 16 mm between 2002 and 2004, might be of $ 10 bn.

Siemens saw the energy division fall 15 % compared to the expectations. Voith Siemens, predicts orders of $ 200 mm this year against $ 250 mm in 2001. On the other hand, it expects to increase 25 % this year, reaching R$ 1.5 bn income.
