12-09-00 A consortium has been formed in Kazakhstan to develop surface structures for the oil and gas industry. Kazakhoil's President Nurlan Balgimbayev has been elected to head the new consortium, which unites Karachaganak Petroleum Operating (KPO) and the Offshore Kazakhstan International Operating Company (OKIOC), in addition to Kazakhoil. TengizChevroil (TCO) has also expressed its intention to join the new alliance.
