According to Transneft, Kazakhstan, which is also expected to pump its oil through the new pipeline, counts on an annual 5 mm ton oil quota for its BPS shipments.

Work on design estimates for the second phase of the Baltic Pipeline System (BPS) is nearing completion. The second phase will cost an estimated $ 200 mm and have a projected capacity of 18 mm tons.
For this amount of crude oil to be pumped, the Yaroslavl-Kirishi oil pipeline will have to be renovated, another pipeline to be laid between Kirishi and Primorsk, and more racks to be built in the port.
