06-07-00 Latin American oil and natural gas companies said that, at regional level, the sector will receive private investment for $ 200 bn in the next 10 years.
The figure was made known at yearly assembly of Regional Oil and Natural Gas Companies Association (ARPEL), that started in Buenos Aires with the presence of main companies' representatives. ARPEL President Milton Costa Filho said that during 1999 Latin America received a total of $ 70 bn foreign investment, of which 16 bn for the oil sector", according to data of Economic Commission for Latin America (CEPAL).
