08-04-02 The liquid petroleum (LP) gas industry generates $ 5 bn per year, said Juan Antonio Barges, Mexico's undersecretary of Energy, at the signing of the Coordination Agreement between gas distributors, the Secretariat of Energy and state governments.

LP gas distributors agreed to improve the quality of their distribution services and some 330 of the 400 distribution companies have signed the accord. The accord also establishes that by March 2005, 100 % of the 23 mm gas tanks currently used in Mexico will be replaced.
