BNDES provides resources for new energy co-generation projects
10-06-03 The Brazilian development bank BNDES (Banco Nacional de Desenvolvimento Economico e Social) has provided two credit lines for new energy co-generation projects.
R$ 49 mm, to Usina Barra Grande de Lencois, will be directed at the production capacity expansion from the current 27,70 MW to 58,6 MW.
R$ 39 mm has been granted to Usina Goiasa Goiatuba Alcool to be also invested in capacity expansion, from 6 MW to 36 MW. From the total, 26 MW will be directed at external commercialisation.
Besides, the bank is also studying another funding of R$ 12 mm for a 6,9 MW energy generation project for a small hydroelectric power facility. BNDES might disburse R$ 4 bn this year for investments in the energy sector, including transmission and generation.
Until May, the bank provided R$ 667 mm for the electric power sector, including generation, transmission and distribution.
