Some $ 7 bn in gas projects to go on stream in Iran
13-08-08 National Iranian Gas Company director Reza Kassaeizadeh said that about $ 7 bn in gas projects will become operational during the Government Week. Kassaeizadeh said through the inauguration of these projects gas shortages to some parts of the country during the winter time will be lifted. He said a pipeline which is projected to transfer gas from South Pars Gas Field to Khuzestan province is near completion.
"With the inauguration of this plan the transfer of gas from Assaluyeh to Khuzestan will be facilitated," the NIGC director told.
The 500-km-long pipeline has been built at a cost of $ 1 bn, he explained. He also added a plan has been devised to transfer sour gas from phases 6 and 9 of the Pars gas field to the Aghjari oil field.
The gas will be injected to oil wells.
The Oil Ministry official went on to say that a gas pipeline project which is scheduled to transfer gas to West Azerbaijan province will also go on stream soon. The 740-km project, which passes through Saveh,
Hamadan, Bijar, Takab, Shahin Dej, Mian-Do'ab and Uromieh, is being done by local contractors at $ 1 bn expense, the official remarked.
With the construction of the Saveh-Qazvin the gas shortages in Gilan and Ardebil provinces will be solved, he noted.
