USA's crude oil imports by country in May 2008
17-07-08 Five countries from Latin America where represented in the top 15 list of exporters of crude oil to the United States (US) market in May 2008.
Mexico and Venezuela came in at the number 3 and 4 spots, while Brazil, Colombia and Ecuador came in at the number 9, 11, and 12 spots, respectively (See Table 1).
In May 2008, the top 5 exporting countries of crude oil to the US market included Canada (1,840 bpd), Saudi Arabia (1,579 bpd), Mexico (1,116 bpd), Venezuela (1,030 bpd) and Nigeria (851 bpd).
Of the top 5 exporters, Canada, Mexico and Nigeria reported sequential declines, while only Venezuela and Saudi Arabia reported sequential increases.
