Russian gas export revenues down 50 %

11-09-09 Half-year figures from the Russian Customs Service show that Russia has got gas exports revenues cut by 50 %.
In the period January-July, the country had a total of $ 19.396 bn of revenues from the gas sales. That is about 50 % less than in the same period last year, new foreign trade statistics from the Customs Service (FTS) informs.

The volumes of gas exported to the "far abroad", first of all the EU, in the period dropped 40,4 %.
In 2008, Russia exported a total of 174,3 bn cm of gas worth a total of $ 66.399 bn.
