Pakistan to invest in gas field development
14-08-00 The government in Pakistan has prepared a development programme for newly discovered gas fields in the country. The cost of the development programme will be in the region of $ 355 mm, and it will be responsible for the injection of 928 mm cf of gas for the country's needs.
The country's minister for petroleum and natural resources, Usman Aminuddin, said that the programme would take place in two phases.
Within the first phase, a total of five fields will be developed, with the gas from the first field to be pumped in the main pipeline at the end of the year. This first phase is expected to be completed by December 2002, with the whole project reaching completion by the end of 2003.
