Indonesia is looking for fresh LNG markets

07-07-02 Indonesia is looking to the Philippines, China and the United States to market its LNG as part of an aggressive sales pitch for its bulging reserves, according to Energy Minister Purnomo Yusgiantoro.

Speaking to delegates at the third annual Indonesian International Oil, Gas and Energy Conference and Exhibition in Bali, Mr Purnomo said the dynamics of the LNG market were also shifting and the country could no longer afford to rely on traditional markets. It was keen to tap into emerging markets in China and the Philippines and cash in on the US west coast where supplies were thin, he said.
