Xinjiang's crude output to rise by 3.4 % this year
28-09-08 According to the region's statistics department, the crude oil and gas output keeps growing this year in Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, China's largest oil and gas production base.
As per report the region's crude oil output is predicated to reach 27.30 mm tons in 2008 up by 3.4 % y-o-y and gas output to increase 18.96 % or about 4 bn cm.
According to the survey on Xinjiang's four oil and gas exploiters, the crude oil output in the first half rose 4.4 % y-o-y to 13.2897 mm tons and gas output went up by 16.2 % to 11.94 bn cm.
With the completion and operation of the west to east gas transmission project, China-Kazakhstan oil pipeline project, Urumuqi Lanzhou oil product pipeline project and the western crude oil pipeline project in succession, Xinjiang's crude oil and gas output is expected to reach 34 mm tons and 35 bn cm respectively by 2012.
