Introduction

The International Association of Dredging Companies (IADC) is the umbrella organisation for contractors in the private dredging sector with more than one hundred and twenty members with affiliated companies on five continents.

Objectives of IADC

The IADC strives to promote the private dredging industry and the professional interests of its members through its own activities and by working with other branch organisations.

Promoting the Private Dredging Industry

The IADC represents privately owned dredging companies with:

  • Worldwide experience in large and small dredging projects
  • Skilled workers, specially trained and devoted to their profession
  • State-of-the-art dredging fleets and access to the most modern technologies
  • Research and development dedicated to providing clients with the most cost-efffective and environmentally responsible solutions to their dredging needs

Fair Trade and Open Markets

The IADC seeks to establish all over the world

  • Fair trade practices
  • The use of sound tendering procedures
  • The use of standard contract conditions

Disseminating Information

The IADC informs its members and the public at large about dredging through its various activities, which are carried out both independently and in cooperation with other dredging and maritime organisations:

  • Publication of magazines and books
  • Development of standard contracts and conditions
  • Attendance at and organisation of conferences
  • Sponsorship of dredging seminars
  • Presentation of awards for research papers
