Troll C pipeline to Mongstad terminal
The Mongstad terminal north of Bergen will be the landfall for a new oil pipeline from Norsk Hydro's Troll C platform in the North Sea, a majority of the field's licensees has resolved. The Nkr 500 mm ($ 78 mm) 90 km pipeline will probably be 16 inch in diameter and able to carry about 200,000 barrels of oil per day. It is due to become operational in October 1999 when the Troll C floater begins production from the thin oil zone of the Troll West gas province. Statoil is believed to be a strong candidate to operate the pipeline as it already operates the oil line between the Troll B floater and Mongstad.
