Dutch gas distributor Gasunie has signed a letter of intent with the Polish Oil and Gas Company (POGC) for sales of natural gas over 15 years from the Netherlands to Poland. The letter of intent was signed in Warsaw and the parties expect to reach a final agreement this year on the sales of about 2 bncmpy. The letter of intent also involves an agreement to cooperate in marketing activities so as to increase gas use by households and utilities as well as promoting environmentally friendly use among industries, Gasunie said."POGC and Gasunie will study in the next months the possibilities for market-development supported by know-how and experiences derived from the Dutch gas market," Gasunie said in a statement.
Gasunie is 50 % owned by the Dutch state and 25 % each by Shell and Esso.
