Dutch produce 14.4 % more gas in 1996

Production of natural gas in the Netherlands rose by 14.4 % in 1996, while oil production declined by 17.5 %, the Dutch government said. Gas production rose by 11.3 billion cubic metres (bncm) to 89.6 bncm. Onshore production rose by 16.1 % to 62.3 bncm, while offshore output was up 10.7 % to 27.4 bncm.
Oil production fell by 0.56 million cubic metres (mmcm) to 2.65 mmcm in 1996, equivalent to 45,486 bpd.
