Work on Britannia proceeding

Apr 24, 1997 02:00 AM

Work has started on the installation of facilities for the Britannia gas condensate field, which is operated by a joint venture between Chevron and Conoco.
Earlier this month, the Britannia manifold was installed. This will control production at the sub-sea drilling centre, located 15 km west of the platform. The latest work will include laying a condensate export pipeline to the Forties pipeline system, and a gas pipeline to the St. Fergus terminal in Scotland, in addition to the provision of other installation facilities. In the autumn, a flotel is due to arrive to support the hook-up and commissioning activities.
The Britannia field is located 210 kilometers north-east of Aberdeen. It has recoverable reserves of 3 tcf of gas and 145 mmb of condensate and natural gas liquids. Its peak production capacity is 740 mm cfpd of gas and 70,000 bpd of condensate.
