India's state-owned oil exploration company is looking for a partner to exploit an offshore oil field near Bombay.
The state-run Oil and Natural Gas Corp. will share stock in the proposed venture to tap the Neelam offshore oil field, Petroleum Secretary Vijay Kelkar told.
The federal government also plans to set up a natural gas regulatory body and will soon present a bill in the parliament. The regulatory body will look at issues related to tariffs, safety and environment as well as prepare investment guidelines for private investment, he said.
