Argentinean Astra continues exploration at Venezuela

July 2, 1997 Astra, the Argentinean oil company owned by Repsol, will continue with its $ 69 mm investment plan to develop the crude reserves at Quiamare- La Ceiba, in Venezuela estimated at 119 mm barrels. Good results were registered at Cerro Pelado well, encouraging the company, that drilled 30 wells from the 138 it committed to drill. Crude production at Quiamare went up from 1,200 to 28,000 bpd, and natural gas production doubled.
