YPF plans 6 % annual growth for 10 year

Jul 23, 1997 02:00 AM

June 30, 1997 Mr Roberto Monti, executive vice president of YPF, said the company plans a 6 % annual growth over the next 10 years, while it stresses international business adding value to oil & gas products. Natural gas should increase by 9 % and crude 3,5 %. In the electric sector YPF does not consider worthwhile to bid for concerns being privatised, but rather to invest to develop plans with updated technology. International business represent only 5 % of YPF's income, a percentage to extend to 14 % up to year 2002. In the fuels distribution segment YPF plans to reach 2,350 service stations, of which 10 % wholly owned, and 1,850 stations (70 %) with the new company logo. Together with Petrobras (Brazil) YPF should open up 1,500 service stations, of which 1,000 in Brazil and 500 in Argentina.
